Why is the ITP mandatory?
The Periodic Technical Inspection is required by law for all vehicles registered in Romania. Its purpose is to verify the technical condition of the vehicle in terms of road safety and environmental protection.
A valid ITP confirms that your vehicle is safe for you, your passengers and other road users. Driving without a valid ITP results in a fine and the withdrawal of your registration certificate.
How the ITP inspection works
